Vanwaar komt BEWOGEN?
Het idee voor BEWOGEN ontstond te midden van de toestroom aan vluchtelingen in 2015. Velen zochten hun toevlucht tot Europa. Ook in België en – vooral – in Brussel waren de gevolgen voelbaar: het Maximiliaanpark kwam haast dagelijks in het nieuws, onzekerheid en onverdraagzaamheid leefden naast vergaande solidariteit. Ook het Brusselse socio-culturele veld zocht naar manieren om connectie te zoeken met deze nieuwe groepen mensen in onze stad.
BEWOGEN 2017: start van een culturele zoektocht
Tijdens een eerste editie van BEWOGEN in 2017 bundelden partners uit drie gemeenten hun krachten om tot een divers programma van anderhalve maand te komen in het voorjaar van 2017. Het werd een culturele zoektocht naar vertrouwen, erkenning, schoonheid en elkaar, doorheen theater, muziek, film, literatuur, exposities en gesprekken. De Gemeenschapscentra en bibliotheken uit Sint-Pieters-Woluwe, Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe en Etterbeek, de gemeenten Sint-Pieters-Woluwe en Etterbeek, Lokaal dienstencentrum Chambéry, Fedasil, Cinemaximiliaan, Globe Aroma,… namen deel aan de eerste editie en sloten af met de belofte om het hier niet bij te laten…
BEWOGEN 2019: het festival groeit
Tijdens een tweede editie van BEWOGEN in 2019 organiseerden een 30-tal Brusselse partners verspreid over het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest een uitgebreid lokaal cultureel programma. De partners stonden zelf in voor de lokale organisatie, publiekswerking, en financiering van hun eigen activiteiten. De coördinatiegroep bracht het netwerk samen, coördineerde en ondersteunde de bovenlokale communicatie en publiekswerking. Zaterdag 23 februari vierden we met alle partners, betrokkenen en geïnteresseerden feest in de Beursschouwburg tijdens ‘Bal Bougé’, een ontmoetingsavond met live muziek en DJ’s, dans, film, workshops, conversatietafels, eten, … Tijdens het BEWOGEN festival organiseerden Arthis, Muntpunt, Davidsfonds, Willemsfonds en Vermeylenfonds het Interlitratourfestival in het teken van BEWOGEN.
Plannen voor 2020
De derde editie van het BEWOGEN festival vindt plaats van 12 tot 16 februari 2020. Deze editie zet nog meer in op een duurzame participatie van en co-creatie met ons publiek. Ontdek het programma van dit jaar.
Comment le festival BEWOGEN a-t-il vu le jour ?
L'idée de BEWOGEN est née pendant l'afflux de réfugiés en 2015. Un grand nombre d’entre eux ont tenté de trouver refuge en Europe. En Belgique aussi, et en particulier à Bruxelles, les conséquences étaient tangibles : le parc Maximilien faisait tous les jours la une, et l'insécurité et l'intolérance côtoyaient un grand élan de solidarité. Le milieu socioculturel bruxellois a également cherché des façons d'entrer en connexion avec ces nouveaux groupes dans notre ville.
BEWOGEN 2017 : le début d'une quête culturelle
Lors de la première édition de BEWOGEN en 2017, des partenaires de trois communes ont uni leurs forces pour mettre en place un programme diversifié d'un mois et demi au printemps 2017. Ce projet est devenu une quête culturelle de confiance, de reconnaissance, de beauté et de rapprochement, au travers de représentations théâtrales, de musique, de films, de littérature, d’expositions et de conversations. Les centres communautaires et bibliothèques de Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert et Etterbeek, les communes de Woluwe-Saint-Pierre et d’Etterbeek, le centre de services local Chambéry, Fedasil, Cinemaximiliaan, Globe Aroma… ont pris part à cette première édition, qui s'est terminée sur la promesse de ne pas en rester là...
BEWOGEN 2019 : le festival prend de l'ampleur
Lors de la deuxième édition de BEWOGEN en 2019, une trentaine de partenaires bruxellois disséminés sur toute la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale ont organisé un programme culturel local étoffé. Les partenaires ont pris en charge l'organisation locale, les échanges avec le public ainsi que le financement de leurs propres activités. Le groupe de coordination a mis en place le réseau et s'est chargé de la coordination et du support de la communication supralocale et des échanges. Le samedi 23 février, l'ensemble des partenaires, parties concernées et personnes intéressées ont fait la fête au Beursschouwburg lors du Bal Bougé, une soirée de rencontre avec musique live, DJ, danse, film, ateliers, tables de conversation, nourriture... Lors du festival BEWOGEN, Arthis, Muntpunt, le Davidsfonds, le Willemsfonds et le Vermeylenfonds ont organisé le festival Interlitratour sous le signe de BEWOGEN.
Projets pour 2020

Where does BEWOGEN come from?
The idea for BEWOGEN came in the midst of the wave of refugees who arrived in 2015. Many sought refuge in Europe. In Belgium, too and – particularly – in Brussels, the impact was tangible: the Maximilian Park was in the news almost every day, and there was uncertainty and intolerance alongside far-reaching solidarity. The socio-cultural sector in Brussels also tried to find ways to connect with these new groups of people in our city.
BEWOGEN 2017: the beginning of a cultural quest
During the first BEWOGEN festival, in 2017, partners from three boroughs joined forces to put together a varied programme lasting a month and a half in the spring of 2017. It was a cultural quest for trust, recognition, beauty and each other via theatre, music, film, literature, exhibitions and discussions. The community centres and libraries of Sint-Pieters-Woluwe/Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe/Woluwe-Saint-Lambert and Etterbeek, the municipalities of Sint-Pieters-Woluwe/Woluwe-Saint-Pierre and Etterbeek, the Chambéry local service centre, Fedasil, Cinemaximiliaan, Globe Aroma, etc. took part in the first edition and ended with the promise to not to leave it at that...
BEWOGEN 2019: the festival grows
During the second edition of BEWOGEN, in 2019, some 30 Brussels partners organized an extensive local cultural programme throughout the Brussels Capital Region. The partners themselves provided all the local organisation, publicity and financing of their own activities. The coordination group brought the network together, coordinated and supported the city-wide communication and publicity. On Saturday, 23 February, all partners, participants and interested persons held a celebration at the Beursschouwburg theatre for the ‘Bal Bougé’, an evening event with live music and DJs, dance, film, workshops, roundtable discussions, food, etc. During the BEWOGEN festival, Arthis, Muntpunt, Davidsfonds, Willemsfonds and Vermeylenfonds organised the Interlitratour festival under the aegis of BEWOGEN.
